Comprehensive Dental Exams
A comprehensive dental exam at Omni Dental Studio includes a thorough evaluation of your teeth, gums, bite, jaw joints, and soft tissues. Dr. Merchi will check for cavities, gum disease, signs of oral cancer, and any other concerns. Digital X-rays are taken as needed to detect problems not visible to the naked eye. New patients receive a full set of X-rays; established patients typically have bitewing X-rays taken annually and a full series every three to five years.
Professional Teeth Cleanings
Even with excellent brushing and flossing at home, plaque and tartar accumulate in areas that are difficult to reach. Professional cleanings remove this buildup before it leads to cavities or gum disease. Our hygienists use gentle, precise techniques to clean every surface of your teeth, including below the gumline. Most patients benefit from cleanings every six months; patients with a history of gum disease may need more frequent visits.
Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT)
Omni Dental Studio is one of the few practices in the Riverview area offering Guided Biofilm Therapy — a Swiss-engineered cleaning protocol developed by EMS. GBT uses a biofilm discloser to reveal plaque, then removes it with a warm water and powder airflow system that is gentler and more thorough than traditional scaling. At every exam, Dr. Merchi performs a visual and tactile screening of your lips, tongue, cheeks, floor of the mouth, and throat for any suspicious lesions or changes. If anything concerning is found, she will refer you promptly for further evaluation.
